WRITING WORKSHOPS

INTERMEDIATE PROSE WORKSHOP FOR WOMEN AND NON-BINARY BIPOC WRITERS

Cost: $450 for 8 weeks

Dates: Wednesdays, June 26 to Aug 21

Times: 6p-8p, In person

Location: Amherst, MA

Workshop Size: 8

Instructor: Mia McKenzie, award-winning novelist

In this workshop, we will create an inspiring, nurturing, creatively safe space where women and non-binary writers of color can come together to achieve their writing goals. This is a supportive, social-justice-informed environment where we, as marginalized people, can witness each other’s greatness.

Over 8 weeks, writers with some experience will workshop their creative prose, including novel, memoir, creative non-fiction and short story pages. Writers will submit work for review by fellow writers during the workshop, who, along with the instructor, will discuss the work and give supportive, constructive feedback.

This workshop takes place in person at my comfortable studio space in Pelham, on the border of Amherst. Address sent after registration.

This is not an intro -level class. Registrants should have some previous experience, such as having taken writing workshops before.

TO REGISTER: Fill out the form below then venmo the $450 registration fee to @mckenzie-mia. You will receive a confirmation shortly thereafter.

This is not my studio, I just think it's cool.

PROSE MASTER CLASS

Master Class is by invitation.

NOVEL YEAR FOR WOMEN and NON-BINARY WRITERS

Novel Year is a year-long writing coaching and workshop program designed to help women and NB writers over 40 complete a draft of a novel or memoir. The program is broken down into group- and one-on-one sessions, scheduled throughout the year, each focusing on particular aspects of the writing process, as we
move towards your full draft. I’m interested in working with writers who can demonstrate an ability to follow through, and for this reason I’m selective in choosing writers to work with. Get more information.
